November Newsletter
Dear Parents,
Hello! Hope all is well with you. I am looking forward to meeting with all of you again on Conference Day later this month. Parent – Teacher Conference Day is Monday, November 24th from 1:00p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Attached you should find a conference schedule. I have also included your scheduled conference time on your child’s report card. If you need a translator for your conference please let me know and I will gladly look into finding one for you. Please let me know as soon as possible as it may take time to find and schedule one.
This Friday your child will bring home their first report card of the school year. You will find a copy of your child’s report card and a blue insert inside the report card envelope. The REPORT CARD ENVELOPE AND BLUE INSERT labeled “2nd Grade Expectations” must be signed and returned to school. Please leave the actual report card at home. This is your copy to keep at home. Also, the folder given at Open House includes a copy of our grading scale. You may want to refer to that as you look over your child’s report card.
If you look at the “important dates” section of this newsletter you will find that we have many days off this month. The week of November 12th – 15th we will NOT have any of our weekly tests. The week is too short for a complete unit. Also, you may want to keep in mind that the monthly projects are due on November 21st as this is the last day of the month in which we will be in school.
I have attached a book order this month. This will be the last book order before winter break. If you wanted to order some books for Christmas gifts from Scholastic you should use this order form. They will be back in time to give as gifts for the holidays.
I look forward to seeing all of you again in a few weeks. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to stop by, give me a call, or write a note/email. My email address is slazich@pennoyerschool.org
Take Care,
Ms. Lazich

Welcome to 2nd Grade! I hope you have had an enjoyable summer. It is my pleasure to welcome both you and your child to another school year. I am looking forward to a great year ahead of us.
Please note that Thursday, September 11th is Curriculum Night at 7:00 p.m. At that time I will explain all of the 2nd grade policies and procedures. This is a very informative evening. Until then, please look for any special papers or announcements in the yellow folder labeled “Take – Home Folder” or the yellow notebook labeled “Take – Home Notebook.” These two items are very important and will be the link between home and school on a daily basis. The “Take – Home Folder” will hold any important papers that need to be sent home, such as homework assignments, lunch orders, etc. The “Take – Home Notebook” is where your child will write down their daily homework assignment and any special announcements. I am asking that the folder is checked and notebook is signed each night by a parent. Thank you for your cooperation.
I look forward to meeting you at Open House. However, please do not hesitate to stop in sooner. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at slazich@pennoyerschool.org or give me a call. I am looking forward to a terrific year!
